Did you just receive your Proxidize Kit? This is the place to get started with setting everything up. This process is a lot simpler than it seems and should take less than 20 minutes.
1. Take everything out of the box and packaging
Proxidize Kits come inside a lot of packaging material to keep the hardware protected during international shipping.
The first thing you need to do once you have the package is to take everything out of its packaging.
2. Connect the Ethernet cable to your router and to the Proxidize ALX-2.0 MicroServer or your Proxidize host machine
Every Proxidize kit comes with an Ethernet cable. You need to use this cable to connect your Proxidize host machine to the internet by connecting one side of the cable to your Proxidize host machine and the other side to your router.
3. Connect the USB hub to the Proxidize host machine via the USB cable.
Every Proxidize kit comes with a USB hub and a USB cable. We need the hub to connect the USB modems.
The Proxidize ALX-2.0 MicroServer has 3 USB ports. It does not matter which port you use.
4. Insert your SIM cards into the USB modems
Please pay very close attention here. Depending on the USB modem model you have received, you might need to use the normal SIM card size of the mini-size which is the middle one.
You can tell this by taking a quick look into the SIM contacts on the USB modem. If a full SIM card does not fit into the metal housing, then you need to remove an outermost piece of plastic around the SIM card to make it a micro SIM card. Note, this is not the smallest size, the nano, but the one just bigger than it.
This step is optional for the installation. If you don’t have the SIM cards now you can add them later, but please keep in mind the proxies won’t work unless your SIM cards are connected properly and have data.
5. Connect your USB modems to the USB hub
This is very simple. All you have to do is remove the USB cover on the USB modem and insert it into any port on the USB hub.
6. Connect the power adapters to power sockets
Once you reach this step, you need to connect the adapters to power.
Please note every kit has 2 or more plugs. There will always be one plug for the Proxidize ALX-2.0 MicroServer and one plug for every hub you have. These plugs are different so please do not connect them before reading the next step.
Note: If you do not have a correct adapter at the moment, please do not try to use any charger you have as that can damage the hardware and void your warranty. We recommend not connecting the hardware to power until you have the correct socket adapters.
7. Connecting the hardware to power.
Now we need to connect the 5-Volt-rated power adapter to the Proxidize ALX-2.0 MicroServer and the 5-Volt-rated power adapter to the USB hub.
Both the ALX-2.0 MicroServer and the USB hub have a 5.5 mm input port, so please pay close attention to the power adapters as it would be easy to mix them up.
Note: If you do not have a correct adapter at the moment, please do not try to use any charger you have as that can damage the hardware and void your warranty. We recommend not connecting the hardware to power until you have the correct socket adapters.
8. Open a browser in any device connected to the same router and open the Proxidize interface.
Proxidize is a locally-hosted web application. Meaning you can only access and interact with the dashboard using a browser. Proxidize is hosted on the Server you're using, so to access it, you first need to find the local IP of the Server from the router to open the Proxidize dashboard.
You can use that IP as a web address in any device connected to the same router. i.e. http://192.168.1.4
And now you’re done! You have Proxidize installed and all your proxies ready to use.
Once you have the hardware together, all you need to do is:
