4G mobile proxies are a type of proxy network that utilizes mobile IP addresses and cellular data generated from mobile carriers. We have multiple reasons for that, but it's mainly because CGNAT can result in closed ports for devices with CGNAT-assigned IPs, and the proxy would have to consume twice the amount of data since bother incoming and outgoing requests will pass through the SIM card connection. However, we do plan to eliminate the need for a router connection with Enterprise plans.
As to why the proxy would consume twice the data, it's because when you send a request within a Proxidize network, it follows a path that looks like this:
Device > Router > Proxidize Server > Modem > Web
And the response would look like this:
Web > Modem > Server > Router > Device
With this method, two data packets, the request and response, will be sent to each, the modem and the router.
If there was no router connection, the path would look like this:
Device > Dongle > Proxidize Server > Dongle > Web
In this case, the same data packets pass four times through the modem, making it consume twice the amount of data.
